We've been First Class Driver for almost 20 years.

First Class Driver has been one of the Metroplex’s leading driving schools for almost two decades. During that time, we have helped many teen and adult drivers to qualify for their driver lisence; learn to drive safely and smartly; remove blemishes from their driving records; and have taught many people to become driving safety instructors.

Our instructors provide the personal training you need to successfully qualify for your license in fun and entertaining classes that replace the tension, boredom, and often bad food of many other driving schools with a healthy, happy and engaging atmosphere. First Class Driver is the most fun you can legally have in the classroom and behind the wheel.

Our class room and administrative office are conveniently located near the intersection of Interstate 20 and Bryant Irvin Road in Fort Worth.

Our staff and instructors include:

Joni Goeders (alias Ms.DaMeanor) – I am an owner, director and instructor of First Class Driver. Since retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2007, I have devoted myself to making First Class Driver Texas’ premier driving school. I am proud to say that we have been recognized as one of the area’s top flight (dare I say First Class?) driving schools and a favorite of teen and adult drivers throughout the Metroplex.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, I spent several years in California and a few months in Houston before returning home. There’s just no place like home! That doesn’t mean that I have lost the traveling bug. When my husband (see Professor Daytona Raceway below) and I are not managing the school or teaching students, vacationing is mandatory. We love snorkeling and sleeping late in Kauai and Maui, and when I’m home, you can usually find me outside in the pool, grilling or planting the garden.

What I really love most is seeing our students successfully qualify to safely pursue their dreams down the road.

Vicki Nguyen – Based in Arlington, I offer one-stop driving training courses that help students and experienced drivers get on the road quickly and safely by providing First Class instruction and the insurance they need to qualify for their permits and to pass state vehicle inspections.

Many drivers are surprised to learn that driver safety training certifications can actually lower their insurance costs. Take care of all your driving and insurance needs quickly and conveniently by requesting me as your First Class instructor. As owner of Care Insurance, I can also take care of your insurance needs.

Bernie Goeders (alias Professor Daytona Raceway) – After claiming Oklahoma as my birthplace, I was a military brat whose family lived in many places around the nation and overseas, including Germany and Philippines.

Along the way, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science degree from Texas A&M University. After retiring from Lockheed Martin, this Okie/Aggie is proud to be an owner, instructor and director of First Class Driver.

When I am not working, I enjoy driving in the gleaming Texas sun in my Solara convertible. It always seems to take me to the water, sun and sand of my favorite vacation spots.

Pat Houser (Alias Ms. Foxzy) – I have been Ms. Foxzy for more than 20 years, thanks to the nickname that my daughter gave me after watching a TV movie starring a character by that name (it didn’t seem to matter that the character was a he and a murderer). To this day, she and her friends still lovingly call me Foxzy. I love it too.

As a native Indianian, I attended school with the Jackson Five in 1979!!!! Prior to moving to Arlington in 2006, I was a Southern California girl. But when three other generations of the family (mom, daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren) moved, I thought it was probably a good idea to tag along. Now I wouldn’t live anywhere else.

I was trained as a Defensive Driving instructor by Ms.DaMeanor, whom I consider to be one of the best instructors in the industry. In addition to a wealth of technical and professional knowledge, I also learned from her how to make classes entertaining, educational and just plain fun. I look forward to seeing you in my classes.

Paula Adams – I have been honored many times for my expertise and years of experience in Texas driver education. As a former school teacher in Abilene and owner of Abilene’s A-OK Driving School, I have taught many teens and adults the ins-and-outs of driver safety and have helped aspiring driving professionals to move toward their dreams.

In addition to hands-on driver education and training, I enjoy working closely with Ms. DaMeanor to help set operating policies and procedures for First Class Driver and to ensure that teaching standards and class content are current and in compliance with Texas education requirements and guidelines.

What I enjoy most is sharing my love of driving with my students, as well as simple safety tips and professional secrets that will make them First Class drivers.

Kristyn Underwood (alias Miss Dismisser) – AI began driving at 15. My first collision was in a large intersection in Austin. There were two left-turn only lanes; the lane to the right of me was an option lane. I was in the second left turn only lane, with the option lane on my right. I was just driving. I was inexperienced and not paying attention to all the signs. I assumed I was in the option lane as I had not experienced such a large intersection before. When the light turned green I went straight. Actually, I went straight into the truck that turned left in front of me.

Years passed. As a small town driver from Crowley and Fort Worth, I avoided causing anymore collisions. However, I was hit by a semi-truck, totaling my vehicle; my son will forever wear the scar.

I am now a highly experienced professional driver and licensed driving safety instructor. I have taken numerous driving related classes and have driven countless miles through Texas, recently in Dallas.

My passion for driving safety started during my first month of working as an EMT. I took a long driving safety class learning quite a bit about ‘everyday’ driving even though I had been driving for years. My teacher was a very kind person and very serious about driving safely. Years later and countless miles driven, I still have that passion.

The road can take you to your dreams and give life long memories. Driving can be such an enjoyable experience or it can be deadly. There are some definite things you can do to make it safer.

Defensive driving is about preventing that collision. The skills you learn are proven; it’s why insurance companies and courts accept and encourage the class. Bring a friend, learn and be a good example together. Hopefully, you will leave with much more than you came with! Knowledge is power.

I am based in Richardson. Come see me if you're in the area!
